Our Goals

OIA works to enhance the success of Morehouse College by building and strengthening the College’s relationships with alumni, foundations, and the philanthropic community. OIA strives to:

Create an environment of collaboration across divisions to help educate faculty and staff members about OIA’s fundraising goals and priorities and promote investment in campaigns through strategic communications and engagement with our campus community, alumni, benefactors, and other stakeholders.

Increase alumni participation (currently 17.2%)

Increase investment by building a broad base of annual support

Increase endowment giving for student scholarships, faculty development, research, innovative programs, endowed chairs, and the physical plant

Promote the mission of the College locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally to alumni and friends to support fundraising and participation goals

Continue fundraising to meet Morehouse College’s Strategic Plan priorities and the Making Men of Consequence Comprehensive Campaign goals, as well as build reserves for capital projects, facility improvements, and the emergency fund

Provide service excellence by accurately recording gifts and maintaining alumni and demographic information through the use of appropriate technology and software

Cultivate and strengthen the College’s strategic partnerships among business, community, educational, cultural, political, and philanthropic leaders

Advocate nationally for the value of increased investment in public higher education.

Educate students about philanthropic giving and engage them in annual campaigns
